Prostate cancer stages are based on how worse prostate cancer occurred on your body. Generally, it can be known only by some tests that are conducted by doctor. It is really important to know how far is prostate cancer already goes inside your body. Prostate cancer is considered as a type of cancer that is occurred on prostate gland. It is happened because of prostate gland which is going larger and disrupt urinary stream inside your body. It is really important to know the stage of prostate cancer since; it affects you in choosing the best treatment to treat the cancer. Here are some stages of prostate cancer.
Several prostate cancer stages
Prostate cancer stages are identified as TNM staging. It is divided into three parts, T which is referred to tumor, N referred to Lymph node, and M referred to Metastases. The beginning of prostate cancer is marked by T or tumor. It shows about the growing process of tumor inside prostate gland. Hence, it is continued with N stage or lymph node stage that will make it becomes larger. The last stage, M or metastases show about how far is the prostate cancer has spread.
The first part of prostate cancer stages is known as Tumor staging. There are four stages on this phase. The first stage is called T1 and it is difficult to be scanned or felt on examination hold by doctor. For better result, doctor will do biopsy check on your body. Usually, it is conducted if your PSA level is raised. Afterwards, you will enter the T2 when the tumor is getting larger. For the size of tumor, there are many variations of sizes that are occurred. The last two stages are considered as dangerous level. T3 and T4. T3 stage happened when it breaks capsule and getting larger while T4 stage is occurred when tumor is spread near prostate area.
The next part is N or lymph node stage. This is the second part of prostate cancer stages that shows that you are positive in having prostate cancer. There are three stages of this phase started with NX. NX means that the area of lymph node is not able to be checked. Second, N0 that show about none of cancer call contained near the area of prostate. The last one, N1 becomes the worst part that shows if there is any cancer cells occurred on lymph node.
The last stage of prostate cancer is M stage or known as metastases. It becomes an important part since; it will show about how far prostate cancer has gone through other area near prostate gland. The first stage is M0 which means, there is no cancer cell has spread near the area of pelvis. The next stage is M1 that shows if the cancer call has spread out from pelvis. The last three parts are defined as M1A, M1B, and M1C stage. M1A stage shows if the cancer cell has spread through lymph node that is located outside the pelvis. M1B stage means that there is no cancer cell contained on bone. The last stage, M1C shows if there are other cancer cells contained on other parts of body.
